It feels both nice and weird having my nails painted after them being completely bare for over a month. Thankfully my index nail has almost grown back completely, I give it another week or two before it’s back to normal length. I don’t really have much to say about these other than that they were inspired by a design I saw by Lucy’s Stash!
![V-gap with Orly Ancient Jade and Serum No. 5 Mint To Be
Have I ever mentioned that striping tape is a bitch? Because it is. I love the effect it gives though, so I’m willing to put up with it.

Now for the review!
Mint to Be is a polish that I immediately loved, but for some reason I never got around to wearing it until now. I knew it would look lovely on it’s own, but I wanted to incorporate it into some nail art! This polish has a mint base with micro silver, mint, and holographic glitter along with silver hex glitter. Shown is one coat over two coats of Ancient Jade. It’s a bit gritty due to all of the micro glitter but it’s nothing a top coat can’t fix!
I’m sure you all know by now that mint is my favorite color, so this polish and I were Mint to Be! Oh ho ho I’m so clever.
Mint to Be can be purchased here. If you have any questions regarding her polish you can find Serum No. 5 on Facebook, Tumblr, and Etsy. Also, every month Serum No. 5 will make a donation to a charity of her choice in an amount equal to 20% of the proceeds of all lacquers sold. The November charity is No Kid Hungry.

When I first got into nail art the thought of attaching something to my nail and them not being completely smooth kind of freaked me out, but eventually I grew to love the way studs looked! I’ve been wanting my own for a while now so I was super excited to try these out! Born Pretty Store has square studs in two sizes (2mm and 4mm) and two colors (silver and gold).
I wasn’t quite sure how to apply these. I tried searching for directions but didn’t really find any. The Born Pretty website says to apply your base color, place the studs on, then seal with a top coat. Because these were so tiny I knew I wouldn’t be able to apply these to a wet surface and not smudge the polish. I decided to paint my base and apply a topcoat then wait for my nails to dry completely. I used tweezers to pick up the studs then with a toothpick I applied a tiny amount of nail glue to the back of the stud and placed it on my nail. I used the end of a bobby pin to do any adjustments because the round edge stood less of a chance dinging the polish. So I may have done it the “wrong” way but it worked for me. I chose nail glue over some sort of clear coat because I knew it would give me a more secure hold. The corners on these are slightly rounded so they wont snag, which is really nice.
The base is Lex Cosmetics Cayman Caban and the gold glitter is Serum No. 5 Girl’s Gotta Eat.
