Ooh La Lacquer I’m a Matte 4 U over a gradient with Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac and Finger Paints Beach Bum.
I’m a Matte 4 U is a clear based polish filled with matte pink and blue macro glitter. For these nails I used two coats, which gave me a good amount of glitter without being too thick. The formula was nice an I had no application problems. I’m a big fan of matte glitter so overall I really liked this polish. :)

![Fact: I will never not love black and white glitter. Or gradients.
In case you guys haven’t noticed, I really love combining my favorite things when it comes to nails. And I mean, why not? It just means that I’ll love them that much more!

For my base I did what was probably the laziest gradient in existence. I wanted to do a black to white gradient across all of my nails but I only own one grey and I didn’t really want to do any sponging or mixing, so I just decided to go half and half on my index and ring fingers. When you look at my nails from normal viewing distance it’s actually a pretty convincing gradient!
The black and white glitter that I used is Ooh La Lacquer Hypnotize. It’s pretty simple, macro black and white glitter in a clear base, but I still really love how it looks! The other B&W glitters that I own have different shapes and sizes so it’s nice to have one that is consistent. Pictured is twoish coats, both of which applied nicely. I really want to use this over a glow in the dark polish to see how it looks, so that will hopefully be a future post. :)

Glitter gradient with Serum No. 5 Spring Into Love and China Glaze Go Go Pink, because who doesn’t love a glitter gradient?
Spring into love is a “pink glitter polish with opalescent flakies, micro shimmer, gold glitter, and fine purple glitter.” It’s also described as a pink version of Deborah Lippmann Mermaid’s Dream, which I think is a pretty accurate description. It’s definitely a gorgeous polish!

When I first got into nail art the thought of attaching something to my nail and them not being completely smooth kind of freaked me out, but eventually I grew to love the way studs looked! I’ve been wanting my own for a while now so I was super excited to try these out! Born Pretty Store has square studs in two sizes (2mm and 4mm) and two colors (silver and gold).
I wasn’t quite sure how to apply these. I tried searching for directions but didn’t really find any. The Born Pretty website says to apply your base color, place the studs on, then seal with a top coat. Because these were so tiny I knew I wouldn’t be able to apply these to a wet surface and not smudge the polish. I decided to paint my base and apply a topcoat then wait for my nails to dry completely. I used tweezers to pick up the studs then with a toothpick I applied a tiny amount of nail glue to the back of the stud and placed it on my nail. I used the end of a bobby pin to do any adjustments because the round edge stood less of a chance dinging the polish. So I may have done it the “wrong” way but it worked for me. I chose nail glue over some sort of clear coat because I knew it would give me a more secure hold. The corners on these are slightly rounded so they wont snag, which is really nice.
The base is Lex Cosmetics Cayman Caban and the gold glitter is Serum No. 5 Girl’s Gotta Eat.

Metametics Nitroglycerine
Nitroglycerine was inspired by Fight Club, which is both a super awesome book and movie. It contains micro and small matte pink glitter in a clear base. I really love matte glitter but I don’t see it too often so I was really excited for this polish! The formula wasn’t too think which meant that I could have easily added more coats if I wanted to, but I decided to stick with two. From pinky to index I have Nitroglycerine layered over Wet n Wild French White Creme, China Glaze Go Go Pink, Orly Butterflies, and China Glaze High Hopes. Layered over Butterflies is definitely my favorite!

Blue + Glitter = my weakness. I ordered China Glaze Alice Dorothy Who? somewhat on a whim, and I am so glad that I did! It’s a blue jelly filled with blue and silver glitter, and it’s just so pretty! There is one coat on my thumb and ring finger over two coats of Zoya Petra, so I can’t say how many coats it would take before there was no visible nail line, but my guess would be not too many. On my other fingers is a matte glitter gradient with Alice Dorothy Who? and Petra.
Edit: Got the name mixed up with a similar OPI polish (Absolutely Alice). Sorry ‘bout that.
With all the gradients going around I figured I’d add my own to the mix. They were inspired by this fun drip dye t shirt tutorial. First I did a sponge gradient using China Glaze Go Go Pink and OPI Big Hair…Big Nails over Wet n Wild French White Creme. Then I stippled over that with China Glaze High Hopes. Unfortunately the gradient underneath doesn’t come out too much in the picture, but I still really like they way turned out!
