1. Because I thoroughly believe that glitter can make almost any mani better, I decided to add some to my most recent water marble. The polish I used is Ooh La Lacquer Matte Romance, which is a clear base with shredded pink and yellow flakies.

Flakies are amazing, agreed? Agreed. The thing I like about these is that they’re matte, because most flakies that you see are opalescent or duochromatic or something along those lines.

Ooh La Lacquer can be found on EtsyTumblr, and Facebook. If you’d like to make a purchase you can use the code “QuitePolished” for 10% off your order. :)

  2. Favorite toenail colors

I probably put 2% of the effort that I put towards my nails into how my toes look. For that reason I pretty much wear the same color throughout a whole season, so my favorite colors for each season are

    Spring: China Glaze High Hopes

    Summer: Lex Cosmetics Cayman Cabana

    Fall: Zoya Petra

And I’m not sure about winter right now because I have no idea what I wore last year. Probably red.

Just in case anyone was wondering. Probably not, but

  3. This was my most successful water marble yet! The three colors I picked at first all worked, I never had to start over on a design, and I never had to redo a nail!

The colors I used are Sinful Colors Unicorn, China Glaze High Hopes, and Orly Butterflies.

    Metametics Vine Whip
Vine Whip is a super intense neon green polish with green bar glitter. Pictured is two coats over white. I know I’ve said it before but white is always necessary underneath neons. It just is. Unless you don’t want it to actually look neon.
But seriously, it looked like my fingers were glowing, this was so bright. It was awesome.
Metametics can be purchased here. If you have any questions regarding her polish you can find Metametics on Facebook, Tumblr, and of course Etsy.

Ooh La Lacquer I’m a Matte 4 U over a gradient with Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac and Finger Paints Beach Bum.
I’m a Matte 4 U is a clear based polish filled with matte pink and blue macro glitter. For these nails I used two coats, which gave me a good amount of glitter without being too thick. The formula was nice an I had no application problems. I’m a big fan of matte glitter so overall I really liked this polish. :)

If you’ve been following me for a while you know that florals scare me and I avoid doing them at all costs. The downside is that I really love florals and wish that I could muster the effort to attempt them more. I found this style the other day, though, and decided to try them out! They’re really easy, just five dots plus another in the center. I love the mint and black combo as well. :)

Just dropped my cleanup brush into my bottle of acetone…

I knew this would happen one day.

Update: Unfortunately the bottle was too tall for me to retrieve the brush with tweezers. I did get it back, but I had to pour out the rest of the acetone. Fortunately there was only about 1/4 of the bottle left and it was pink and opaque, so it was probably time for me to get a new bottle anyways. And all of the paint was stripped from the brush which is really nice. :)

Fact: I will never not love black and white glitter. Or gradients.
In case you guys haven’t noticed, I really love combining my favorite things when it comes to nails. And I mean, why not? It just means that I’ll love them that much more!

For my base I did what was probably the laziest gradient in existence. I wanted to do a black to white gradient across all of my nails but I only own one grey and I didn’t really want to do any sponging or mixing, so I just decided to go half and half on my index and ring fingers. When you look at my nails from normal viewing distance it’s actually a pretty convincing gradient!
The black and white glitter that I used is Ooh La Lacquer Hypnotize. It’s pretty simple, macro black and white glitter in a clear base, but I still really love how it looks! The other B&W glitters that I own have different shapes and sizes so it’s nice to have one that is consistent. Pictured is twoish coats, both of which applied nicely. I really want to use this over a glow in the dark polish to see how it looks, so that will hopefully be a future post. :)

    Oh no! Naked nails!
I just thought I’d post them in case anyone was wondering about the health of my nails (probably not though). They are delightfully yellow and peeling like no other. I broke my index today at work (which is in a dining hall so no nail polish :( ) so I decided it was finally time to round off the tips. As much as I loved my square nails they were extremely weak and broke/peeled constantly. So for now it will be poorly shaped round nails!

This is essentially all of my favorite nail polish related things rolled into one mani. It has a glitter gradient, studs, a matte finish and OPI Russian Navy! Russian Navy holds a special place in my heart because it was my first non-drugstore polish. :)
The gold glitter is Serum No. 5 Girls Gotta Eat, and the matte top coat I used is Essie Matte About You. The studs are from the BornPrettyStore and if anyone has been thinking about buying anything from them you can use the coupon code UGJ61 for 7% off your entire purchase.
